This may seem like an outrageous claim.
If everyone in the world spent 6 minutes every morning doing their sled training (preferable outside in small groups), the world would be a significantly better place.
The first time I said this, I laughed at myself. But then I thought about it for a minute and realized that it is true.
First, resistance training (weightlifting) can:
- Make you stronger
- Help you lose weight
- Make you feel better – physically and emotionally
- Help with depression
- Fight off disease
- Lower inflammation
- Improve memory
- Make you smarter
- Help you live longer
Now this is all great, but who has an hour or more every morning to lift weights. And it can be really hard on the body, at least if done right.
But our sled workouts do all of the above in 6 minutes.
Additionally, the sled workouts can:
- Reduce your blood sugar
- Reduce blood pressure
- Improve oxygen consumption
- Slow or even reverse aging at a cellar level
The author of the study in the link above, Dr. Sreekumaran Nair, stated, “If people have to pick one exercise, I would recommend high-intensity interval training, but I think it would be more beneficial if they could do 3 to 4 days of interval training and then a couple of days of strength training.”
The beauty of our sled training is that it is BOTH.
So that is the science stuff. Sled training will really make you look and feel better, and younger, and less depressed, and smarter and … It also helps you get out any aggression you might be have.
If we all felt better, and felt better about ourselves, and were smarter, that would make the world a better place. And when you feel better about yourself, you are kinder to others. And if we all did it, the world would certainly be a better place.
How many things do you do in a given day that you can say with conviction will make you a better human and the world a better place?
So get sledding. You owe it to yourself.
And the world.
